Modalities I Use

This is only a small sampling of the modalities I use in my practice!

Far East Influenced Clinical Skincare

Are you ready to experience the best of East and West and Ancient and Modern when it comes to your skin?

Whether you visit me in my Petaluma, CA office or online, I infuse all consults and treatments with my unique take on integrated cosmetology that is highly influenced by Chinese Medicine, Korean Beauty Rituals and Modern Technological tools.

You may have heard the buzz about Korean Skincare and K-Beauty Rituals in magazines and online. In the professional skincare space Korean skincare is known for its innovative and high quality ingredients. I always tell people that the Koreans are about 10 years ahead of us on skincare technology.

Within K-Beauty there are true alternatives to more invasive modalities like microneedling and non-chemical options for peeling. Less downtime with better results? I can do that!

Scar Release Therapy

Scar Release Therapy (SRT) is a painless, clinically tested solution for reducing the ill-effects scars have on our bodies.

SRT applies Microcurrent Point stimulation (MPS), a patented solution that increases inter-cellular metabolism, protein synthesis and healing functioning to re-awaken the skin’s ability to self-generate.

You will see visible changes in scar appearance in real time. Once a scar has been released there is fascia release & stress reduction, increasing blood circulation and lymph drainage.

Scar Release Therapy is highly recommended for treating scars on your face and body quickly and efficiently. It is incredibly effective on c-section scars, mastectomy scars, port scars and other surgical scars as well as injury scars and even internal scars that might not be visible but still cause pain and discomfort.

While it may take more than one session (the average is 4-6 per area), pain relief and fading begins right away.

Ear Seeds & Auriculotherapy

Did You Know The ear is a microsystem of the entire body? It’s true. In my practice I utilize these points to treat the entire body.

Auriculotherapy is the practice of stimulating these Ear Points. In my office I use 2 methods to stimulate these points.

1. Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) applies brief, concentrated DC microcurrent impulses at specific frequencies to specific treatment points to relax muscles, calm the nervous system and release endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers in the body. MPS therapy is extremely effective for treating many chronic and acute soft-tissue pain conditions as well as mental and emotional challenges.

2. Ear Seeds are a non-invasive, safe and effective tool used to stimulate nerve endings / pressure points in this microsystem. Ear Seeds consist of tiny seeds, beads or pellets that stick to the surface of your ear with tape. Once you know where they go, you simply peel, place, and press.

East Asian Medicine

East Asian Medicine or EAM (also sometimes referred to as Chinese Medicine or TCM) is an effective form of medical treatment that has evolved into a complete holistic health care system.

Practitioners of EAM have used this noninvasive treatment method to help millions of people become well and stay well. EAM promotes natural healing. It can enhance recuperative power and immunity, support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being. It is a safe, painless and effective way to treat a wide variety of medical problems.

At my office EAM includes many different aspects including nutrition therapy, supplements and herbal medicine, lifestyle and exercise, acupressure and gentle bodywork and microcurrent point stimulation (MPS), a needle free acupuncture alternative.

Epigenetic Testing

As I’m sure you already know, the two most significant drivers of your health and performance are:

1) Genes – how you were born.
2) Behavioral patterns – the choices you make on a day to day basis.

Most people only focus on behavioral patterns because that’s the easiest thing to do. As you can guess, only having HALF of the equations can affect your results.

But there WAS no easy, affordable, and customized way to integrate the two… Until now!

I have partnered with a cutting-edge company here in the Bay Area to help with the ‘genetics’ side of things. They use your DNA to optimize your genetic potential. This means you’re on your way to getting the best results possible. There is a huge a range of different testing kits available that we can use to help us get better results for less than you think.

Vagal Nerve Stimulation

Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS) utilizes a low level electrical current (DC) to stimulate the Vagus Nerve.

It is estimated that the vagus nerve is responsible for about 80% of our Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) and helps us move from “Fight or Flight” to “Rest & Digest”.

VNS has been shown to help with many conditions including:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Sleep Apnea
  • Higher blood pressure
  • Digestive Issues
  • Brain Fog
Studies from Canada have also shown it to be helpful in the management of Long COVID symptoms.

Clinical Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of fragrance to enhance or promote a therapeutic benefit. The fragrances are most often concentrated plant based or “essential” oils. Essential oils are made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves, fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance.

Research clearly shows that aromatherapy can help promote relaxation, relieve anxiety and help the body with many emotional challenges. I love aromatherapy, and highly suggest adding it to your self care routine.

Methods of Aromatherapy Used in My Practice
  • Simple Inhalation: Sometimes it’s just as simple as opening the bottle and taking a few deep breaths.
  • Diffuser: I love sharing my favorite diffuser blends. Please ask me at your next appointment.
  • Topical Application/ Acupressure: Properly diluted oils are applied to specific acupoints or meridians.
